The Knicks are coming for Derek Fisher.

Frank Isola of the New York Daily News says that the Thunder guard is the New York Knicks next target after Knicks president Phil Jackson was spurned by Steve Kerr. The Knicks were forced to look in another direction when Kerr was hired by the Golden State Warriors earlier this week.

Now, Fisher takes center stage as the Knicks' No. 1 target, according the Isola, even though Fisher said following Game 6 Thursday night against the Clippers that he hasn't even been in contact with the Knicks.

From Isola: "Jackson’s plan, according to a source, would be to assemble an experienced staff around Fisher that could potentially include Kurt Rambis and Bill Cartwright, two former NBA head coaches. Jackson thinks highly of Rambis, the longtime Lakers assistant, and there is a possibility that Rambis could be hired as a head coach.

"The one reservation, according to a source, is that Rambis wouldn’t make a big splash like Fisher or Kerr."
