Report: Kansas City Chiefs acquire QB Alex Smith from 49ers
The Kansas City Chiefs have a new quarterback.
Fox Sports' Jay Glazer is reporting the Chiefs have acquired Alex Smith from San Francisco in a trade that won't be official until March 12.
Smith quarterbacked the 49ers to the 2012 NFC Championship Game but was replaced by Colin Kaepernick after being sidelined by a concussion. Kaepernick led the 49ers to the Super Bowl, where they lost to 34-31 to the Baltimore Ravens.
