Thunder forward Kevin Durant will be named the NBA's Most Valuable Player at press conference tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, according to CBSSports.com.
Durant's play this season has made him the favorite to win the award over LeBron James, breaking up James' two-year run of consecutive MVP awards. Durant, the league's leading scorer this season, will become the first player to win both the scoring title and MVP award in the same season since Allen Iverson did it in 2000-01.
Durant averaged 32.0 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game this season. He also led the league in Player Efficiency Rating with a 29.90, 0.50 of a point better than James' 29.40.
