Oklahoma State guard Markel Brown is arguably the best dunker in college basketball, but the senior won't be participating in the annual College Slam Dunk Championships.
Kelly Hines of the Tulsa World says Brown is recovering from the season and wants to avoid injury following OSU's 85-77 loss to Gonzaga in the NCAA Tournament. According to Hines, Brown declined an invite to the dunk contest, which will be April 3 at Southern Methodist University's Moody Coliseum in Dallas.

It's a shame we won't get to see Brown jam, but understandable. If Brown would have competed, he would have been the second Oklahoma-based player to win a dunk competition this postseason, joining Tyler Inman of Southwestern Christian University (Bethany). Inman won the NAIA dunk contest last week in Kansas City.
