Junior college player Trenton Marshall told Scout.com that he is looking for schools closer to his home in Louisiana.

Marshall committed to OSU in mid-June and told The Oklahoman at the time that he chose the school mostly because of his relationship with assistant coach Butch Pierre, who was previously recruiting Marshall to LSU.

"I picked them because I've known Butch Pierre and he's been recruiting me real hard," Marshall said. "It was a pretty good campus, I like the way the office is and stuff. I like it."

The shooting guard is a sophomore at Jones County in Mississippi.

Let's not rush to judgement on Ford for one recruit. Several times top recruits don't even pan out in school. There's no need to cry over something we never really had in the first place.
Ford has the style of play that most players today seek -- uptempo, little defense, run & gun. Give Ford a chance to show his style. Ford, "The New Billy Donovan", needs time just like Billy did at Florida. Rest assured that the Kentucky AD knew what he was talking about when Holder sought his guidance on a new OSU head basketball coach and Ford was recommended.
Things will be what they will be. Relax folks. It's out of your hands anyway.

Don't rush to judgment, give Ford a couple seasons and then see where he's at. Look at Jeff Capel's first season compared to his second one, it's night and day.

Mike, I wasn't saying anything about your post. Let's just give him time. Although his teams did shoot alot of three's, they also were the 3rd highest scoring team in the country. They like to press, the entire game and will out-work and out-hustle teams. Something we never saw under Sean. I am excited to see how his style fits in the Big 12.

I am willing to wait and see how the season turns out. I hope they at least give him time to build the team before they get rid of him. It was time for Sean to go though. There was no building to be done with him. After all, he had been there with dad for years!! GO POKES!!

Woah now, people. I make one comment and all of a sudden I'm a cockroach?? My opinion has nothing to do with his recruiting or the fact that we lost this kid. Two huge reasons we lost as many games as we did the last couple years were 1. we shot way too many three's and 2. turned the ball over like crazy. Unfortunately Coach Ford's style of play encourages both of those characteristics. If it works, I'll be happy and admit that I was wrong. But in the meantime, I believe that this up-tempo style will hurt us more than it will help us. Trust me, I love OSU hoops and I will support it no matter who the coach is. This is just my opinion.

I wouldn't be surprised if the recent Gustav evacuation, made the kid reconsider. Completely understandable, if that is the case. Regardless, best of luck to him. Looking forward to Coach Ford's new system.

The first little negative thing happens and the cockroaches come out to feed. Pathetic.

How can we expect him to recruit that well if he hasn't coached a game yet? He has a 4-star PG coming in as well as a 3-star. Give him time people. He hasn't even coached a game.

mike. it does seem like he hasnt been able to recruit as well as i thought he would. but he has won everywhere he's been. i think we have to remember that this year will be a very important recruiting time. if they can win alot of games this year with what coach ford already has (which isnt bad) i think youll start to see the commitments from recruits pick up.

The kid is obviously very well spoken...-----Either way, as an OSU fan I am absolutely not sold on Travis Ford or this system he is bringing in.
