DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The retail price of gas in Iowa is down.

AAA says in a report this week that the average price of regular unleaded gas in the state is $3.23. That's down from last week's average of $3.29. Both numbers are below this week's national average of $3.32.

The report shows regular unleaded gas is higher now than a year ago, when it was $3.19.

The state's average diesel fuel price was $3.84, which is down 3 cents from last week. The report shows it was $3.91 a year ago.
