In the biggest move in regard to the NBA title race, the Indiana Pacers reportedly traded former All-Star forward Danny Granger to the Philadelphia 76ers for guard Evan Turner and forward Lavoy Allen.
Granger was formerly a No. 1 option for the Pacers, but has been ravaged by injuries in recent years. With the emergence of Paul George at small forward, Granger (and his $14 million expiring contract) became surplus.
The 76ers appear to be in full-on tank mode now, having dealt two of their top players this week. Meanwhile, the Pacers add a quality reserve big man in Allen and a versatile guard/forward in Turner, who was averaging 17.4 points and 6.0 rebounds a game for Philly.
