Report: Thunder, Lakers, Bulls, Heat reach out to Caron Butler Published: July 1, 2014

The Thunder are reportedly among the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls as teams looking to sign veteran forward Caron Butler.

Butler, who was acquired midway through the 2013-14 season by the Thunder from the Milwaukee Bucks, is an unrestricted free agent after averaging 8.7 points and 3.2 rebounds in 22 regular season games with the Thunder. Butler averaged 6.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and shot 35.6 percent from 3-point range in 18 postseason games.

Butler's future with the Thunder has been in question since the team's exit from the postseason in the Western Conference finals. Butler didn't participate in exit interviews with the Thunder in the beginning of June, and told the Washington Post he'd "have to sit back and think about some things."

Butler has previously played for both the Heat and the Lakers in his 12-year career.
