Regarding “Big problems are coming soon” (Gleanings, Sept. 26): I agree with U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn's statement (paraphrased) that the reason things don't change in Washington is that the same people are being sent there and these people are all politicians. However, our agreement ends with my list of reasons for change, which begins with Coburn, Rep. Tom Cole and Sen. Jim Inhofe. The idea of partisan obstruction of an administration wasn't the original idea of this Congress. Don Nickles adamantly stated on the night of Bill Clinton's election that “We will try to block him at every turn.” It's time we have representation in Washington working for the people rather than against the opposing party.
