For customers with big outdoor holiday decoration projects, a new local franchise operation can provide installation and storage services that go way beyond hammering up a few strands of icicle lights.

Christmas Decor of Oklahoma City began operations about two months ago, offering homeowners a safe and hassle-free option for decorating their homes and surrounding trees. The franchise, which employs eight, is a business division of the six-month-old Oklahoma City landscaping firm Earth, Water and Fire.

L.V. Davis, one of four owners of the company, said Christmas Decor began operations after employees attended a week-long safety training session in Texas. The franchise serves the entire metro area, Davis said, but most of its decorating projects are in northwest Oklahoma City and Edmond.

Davis said there are two plans available: A service plan where customers lease the lights and decorations, and Christmas Decor installs, dismantles and stores all the trimmings; and a sales plan where customers purchase the decorations and Christmas Décor installs and dismantles them.

Decorating projects start at about $300 to $400, but can cost as much as $1,200, he said. The decorating focus is on homes, windows and outside trees, with an emphasis on lights.
