Penn Square hosts weather expo

Penn Square Mall will partner with the National Weather Service and the National Weather Center to host the Inaugural Severe Weather Awareness Expo from noon to 4 p.m. on March 1. Companies and organizations are invited to participate in the event to connect Oklahomans about ways to keep their families safe before and after severe weather hits. Vendors from restoration companies, hardware stores, disaster services, local grocery stores and more will have exhibits on how to prepare for Oklahoma's unpredictable weather.

Bikinis reopens renovated eatery

A renovated Bikinis Sports Bar & Grill will reopen its restaurant at 2742 W Memorial from 2 p.m. to midnight on Jan. 30. The restaurant bills itself as the only spot as in Oklahoma City with three 100-inch plasma TVs. Regular restaurant hours of 11 a.m. to midnight will begin Feb. 1 at the Memorial Road location.

More McAlister's Delis planned

The Saxton Group, the largest McAlister's Deli franchisee in the country, has acquired seven McAlister's Deli locations in Oklahoma City in the past year, and plans on adding more locations to the metro area. Owner and operator of over 50 McAlister's Deli locations regionally, The Saxton Group is ready to expand the restaurant's footprint in the Oklahoma City market by adding five more restaurants in the next three to five years. Locations are being scouted and will be opened as soon as the development opportunities arise, the company said. McAlister's Deli has more than 310 restaurants operating in 23 states.
