Healthy food event is scheduled

A healthy food celebration will be held to usher in the new year at the Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City Farmers Market. The event is planned for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 5 inside the Horticulture Pavilion, 400 N Portland. A presentation on locally grown cold weather foods will be held at 11 a.m. Vendors will provide information and recipes to attendees throughout the event.

Eyemart Express opens at mall

Eyemart Express has opened a mini-store in Penn Square Mall. The 100-square-foot showroom features budget frames and lenses. Eyemart Express, based in Appleton, Wis., opened its first Oklahoma City store in 1993. “The mini stores give us the chance to prove that consumers don't have to pay ‘mall prices' for higher quality eyewear ... even if they insist on shopping there,” said founder Doug Barnes.
