4 teams to play in WhataGames

Teams from four of Oklahoma's Whataburger restaurants were named semifinalists in the restaurant chain's biennial WhataGames competition. The Olympic-style event tests workers in operations, corporate history and customer service. The 100 semifinalists were chosen from more than 740 restaurants in 10 states. The pool of teams will be narrowed to 21, with those teams eligible to compete in the WhataGames finals in Grapevine, Texas, in April. The champion receives a gold medal and $165,000 in cash prizes. Oklahoma semifinalists include the restaurants at 2201 NW Cache Rd. in Lawton, 5315 N May and 5832 NW 36 in Oklahoma City, and 2701 S Memorial in Tulsa.

A Flower Place opens new site

— A Flower Place has a new location at 1333 N Santa Fe, Suite 117. The Edmond florist, which opened in 2001, is owned by Celia Collins and Jan Polhemus, both certified Oklahoma master florists. The new location features a large selection of gifts and an event venue, which can be reserved for parties. Formerly, the business was located inside the Crest Foods at N Santa Fe and W 15.
