WOODWARD -- A hearing has been scheduled to revoke the probation of a man suspected of killing a state narcotics agent in November.

Leslie Don Vance could be sent to state prison to serve the remainder of a 35-year sentence that had been suspended after he served seven years, said Mark Woodward, spokesman for the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs.

Agent Choc Ericsson was killed Nov. 18 when he tried to apprehend a driver who apparently was high on methamphetamine and sped away, running over the agent.

Woodward said Ericsson fired one shot at the driver and Vance has been partially paralyzed since the shooting. He said a state prison should be better equipped to deal with Vance's medical needs if the case is brought to trial.

Woodward said lab tests showed Vance was under the influence of methamphetamine and marijuana during the November encounter.

Woodward said Vance could be charged with the agent's death after the July 10 probation hearing.

Drug use was prohibited under the terms of his early release.
