RI gas prices rise by 1 cent

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Gas prices are up 1 cent from last week in Rhode Island.

The weekly price survey released Monday by AAA Southern New England says the average cost of a gallon of regular self-serve in the state is $3.52. That's 27 cents higher than the U.S. average of $3.25 per gallon.

Prices locally in the past month have climbed 9 cents. A year ago, Rhode Islanders were paying an average of $3.51 a gallon.

AAA's survey found a 26-cent price range, from a low of $3.43 to a high of $3.69.
