STROUD — Gayle England calls these horses her “skinnies.”
Clustered under shade trees on England’s rolling green pasture, the 10 horses seem content, despite the bony ribs and hips showing through their patchy coats.
England’s husband pulls up in a tractor and the horses eagerly trot over as he lowers a bale of hay to the ground.
They devour the hay, some flattening their ears and nipping at others...
