Ringling fire inquiry criticized
RINGLING — District Attorney Bret Burns criticized two state fire marshal’s agents Thursday over their investigation of a house fire that killed two sisters and their adult cousin in January, calling their work "unprofessional.”
Burns’ comments came a day after he charged the children’s mother — Nichola Michelle Frasier, 32 — with endeavoring to manufacture methamphetamine and child neglect. If convicted on both counts, Frasier could serve seven years to life in prison. The fire killed Kaylee Frasier, 12; Megan Frasier, 14; and Luther Wayne "Red” Gregg, 48. "I don’t think the state fire marshal’s agents were professionally trained in their jobs,” Burns told The Oklahoman. "We will never know for sure whether those children died in a meth lab fire because they botched the investigation.” Burns claims the scene of the fire was left unsecured at night, adding with frustration that despite his request, "To this day, I have still not received a report from the state fire marshal’s office.NewsOK has disabled the comments for this article.
