Rising fuel costs strain budgets

The state of Oklahoma , while benefiting from high energy prices, will pay an estimated 20 percent to 25 percent more for fuel in the upcoming fiscal year.

The new fiscal year begins July 1.

Those estimates are included in budget requests for the 2007 fiscal year. Even though this is the last week of the regular session, no budget agreement is in place.
