Oklahoma road wrecks kill five women

Wrecks on state roads Sunday and Monday killed five people, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Felipa Valdez, 75, Guymon.
Valdez was driving north on
U.S. 64 north of Guymon in
Texas County about 4:20 p.m. Monday when her vehicle traveled left of center and crashed into a southbound truck driven by
Aaron Bachman, 25, of Goodwell, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said. Valdez died at the scene. Bachman was not injured. Both Valdez and Bachman were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
Tiffany Plum, 16, Bristow.
Plum died Monday afternoon after an accident northeast in Depew in
Creek County. She was driving a car west on State Highway 66 at South 449th West Avenue at 3:14 p.m. when the car traveled across the center line and crashed into a truck driven by
Charles Stone, 28, of
Kellyville, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said. Plum died at the scene, troopers said. Charles Stone and 3-year-old
Caleb Stone were taken to
St. Francis Hospital in
Tulsa. Plum and Charles Stone were wearing seat belts and Caleb Stone was in a child restraint seat, troopers said.
Debra Hall, 55, Sweetwater.
Hall died in a crash Monday east of
Sweetwater in
Beckham County, troopers said. She was driving a car eastbound on State Highway 6 about 6:40 a.m. when an oncoming sport utility vehicle veered left of center and crashed into her head-on, the patrol reported. Hall died at the scene.
The SUV driver,
Gloria Hughes, 28, of Sayre, was taken to a Sayre hospital with back injuries, troopers said.
Rebecca Marie Lyle, 19, Lawton.
Lyle died in a wreck Sunday southeast of
Lawton in rural
Comanche County, troopers said. She was driving a car eastbound on SE Woodlawn Road about 3:05 p.m. when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic at SE 135 Street, the patrol reported. A southbound pickup crashed into her driver’s side door. Lyle died at
OU Medical Center, troopers said. The pickup driver,
George Vincent Burke, 42, of Walters, and a 7-year-old passenger were treated at a Lawton hospital and released.
Danielle Sellers, 22, Ardmore.
Sellers died in a motorcycle crash Sunday in Springer in
Carter County, troopers said. She was driving the motorcycle south on U.S. 77 about 6:15 p.m. when it struck a deer, the patrol reported. She was thrown nearly 160 feet.
