Roadblocks: Five factors in the relocation

Five factors that could impede the move of the Seattle SuperSonics to Oklahoma City, with analysis by The Oklahoman's Berry Tramel:
•New arena in Seattle: Though the Oct. 31 deadline for a new arena deal has passed, chairman Clay Bennett would be hard-pressed to turn down a state-of-the-art building if something develops in Greater Seattle. Chances: slim. Where is the momentum to build an arena? •Sell Sonics: A group of Seattle businessmen have offered to buy the NBA Sonics and WNBA Storm from the Oklahoma City group. Chances: slim. The NBA ownership club is difficult to enter; Bennett has enjoyed being part of the NBA, and his partners back in Oklahoma City are anticipating bringing a franchise to their hometown. •Court rules for Seattle: The Sonics were denied the shortcut of taking the lease disagreement to arbitration, so now a federal court will decide if the Sonics can break their KeyArena lease.
