A man suffered minor injuries Sunday morning when he was shot as his car was being stolen at gunpoint in Oklahoma City.

The man got out of his car about 9 a.m. Sunday near the 5600 block of NW 23 and was approached from behind by the armed robber, Oklahoma City police Sgt. Dax Laporte said.

The gunman fired a shot and the bullet grazed the man’s head, Laporte said.

The robber took the man’s keys, cellphone and wallet and drove off in his car.

The victim, who speaks only Spanish, walked about 11 blocks to an apartment where he called 911 for help, Laporte said.

“I think the grazing was extremely minor,” Laporte said. “I don’t believe he received any medical attention on scene.”

No arrests have been made, and the police have not released a description of the robber.

The missing car is a brown 2001 Nissan Altima four-door vehicle with the license plate 571BXY.
