Rock solid: Fire-gutted Stroud cafe will reopen
STROUD — The final chapter of Route 66's historic Rock Cafe won't be written in ashes. Owner Dawn Welch won't let the fire-destroyed roadside icon be remembered that way.
Welch plans to rebuild.
"There's no way I will let the Rock Cafe go down with a fire,” Welch told The Oklahoman on Wednesday, hours after watching her restaurant engulfed by flames. "This can't be the end to the story.”
