Rocks offer clues about life

Much of Oklahoma is covered in sedimentary rocks, mostly limestone and sandstone. You can see these rock types in the banded layers of the exposed parts of the Arbuckle Mountains in central Oklahoma.

Planet visibility
Venus will continue to dominate the evening sky the next three months. Jupiter and Mars are gone, but Saturn rises about 9:30 p.m. Full moon will occur Sunday; new moon and an eclipse of the sun (visible in the Indian Ocean, not in Oklahoma) will be Jan. 26.
