BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Rocky Mountain College assistant men's basketball coach Wes Keller has been named head coach of the women's team.

Rocky athletic director Robert Beers announced the hiring Monday. Keller takes over for Brian Henderson, who resigned last week after 13 seasons.

Keller has spent the last eight seasons with the Rocky men's team, including five as assistant coach and the past three as associate head coach. The Rocky men won the NAIA national championship in 2009.

Keller was an all-state basketball player at Helena High and played collegiately at Miles Community College and Montana Western. He has coached basketball at both colleges.

His father, Steve, has been the coach of the Montana Western men's basketball team since 2007.
