Rose State College sets lecture series

Rose State College will present a series of lectures titled "The Paradox of Affluence, Choices, Challenges and Consequences.” The lectures are free. They will be from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Rose State College Lecture Hall. The dates and topics are:

•Wednesday: "Famous Bankruptcies and Financial Difficulties of the Rich and Famous” by Craig Dawkins, Rose State College business professor.

•Oct. 1: "Why the Stigma? It is Just Mental Illness” by Catherine Lewis, social worker for the V.A. Medical Center and adjunct sociology instructor for Oklahoma City Community College.

•Oct. 29: "Nobody Loves a Genius Child — Rejecting Vulgar Careerism” by Maria Davidson, African-American studies professor at the University of Oklahoma.

•Nov. 19: "Who is John Gault?” by Terrence L. Byers, Rose State College professor of game development and robotics.
