Roughtail gears up for next bottle release

by Nick Trougakos Published: September 19, 2013

Following the success of its Hoptometrist Double IPA bottle release, Roughtail Brewing is prepping for the launch of its next bottled offering: Split Decision Imperial Black Rye Ale.

Roughtail brewmaster Tony Tielli says Split Decision should be available in stores by Oct. 11.

The beer is described as “12th Round Ale’s gritty southpaw cousin, brewed to go the distance with spicy rye, rich roasted malt, and a ragged hoppy bitterness. This heavyweight contender can be enjoyed now, or cellared for up to 2 years.”

Tielli said consumers should expect a relatively limited release, with around 300 cases being produced. That would be higher than the case count for Hoptometrist, of which about 175 cases were released.
