A female employee of the Joseph Harp Correctional Center caught on tape having a sexual conversation with a male inmate has been charged with rape and bringing a cellphone and drugs into prison.

Kasey McDonald, 37, is accused of having sex with an inmate in her office multiple times, smuggling a cellphone into the prison and supplying marijuana to prisoners.

The 24-year-old inmate has since been moved to a prison in Cushing, according to the state Corrections Department website.

Court records show that audio recordings obtained by the mother of another inmate in the Lexington facility led to the investigation into McDonald, who has since resigned from the state Corrections Department.

The other inmate's mother, Rosanne Nardoni-Isom, is listed as defendant on a probable cause affidavit filed in Cleveland County, but has yet to be charged in the case.

During the audio recording, the case manager is heard making sexually suggestive remarks to the inmate and telling him she wants to get rid of a post office box in Lexington because she has a bad feeling about it.

The recording also reveals the prisoner feared for his safety because of the relationship and that the woman was his personal case manager.

The inmate said the recording was made by Nardoni-Isom, who was on a three-way call with him and McDonald without the case manager's knowledge, as a form of protection.

The inmate told investigators he had sex with McDonald on “30 to 40 separate occasions” and that the relationship began in December. He said the two had sex in McDonald's office and another office next to hers.

McDonald, of Blanchard, has been charged with one count of second-degree rape and one count of bringing contraband into a penal institution, both felonies. She admitted to having sex with the inmate but denied bringing drugs into the prison, records show.

In Oklahoma, having sex with an inmate — consensual or not — is considered rape.

McDonald was arrested Friday and booked at the county jail in Norman, then was released on $5,000 bail.

Mother may face charges

The inmate McDonald was having sex with told investigators Nardoni-Isom was funneling money into the prison through Green Dot, a company that provides prepaid credit and debit cards to inmates.

He said he used the mother's money — and funds from other inmates — to pay McDonald for bringing in the phones and drugs.

The inmate told investigators “that McDonald introduced a cellular telephone and marijuana on several occasions through security personnel,” records show.

Nardoni-Isom also is accused of sending a $50 gift card to McDonald, which was reported to staff at the time. The incident led to Nardoni-Isom's son being removed from McDonald's caseload.

Investigators allege Nardoni-Isom was aware her actions weren't appropriate but still maintained contact with the inmate by cellphone. She described herself as the inmate's “surrogate mother,” although court records show the two met some time this year during a “facility visit.”
