Justin Barney, 14, collapsed after making a routine tackle, television reports said. An ambulance took Barney to the hospital, where he was put into a medically induced coma.

"The last couple of days have been really tough for everyone involved,” Rush Springs athletic director Mike Zurline said. "The kids have been taking it really hard. We're all hoping and praying for the best.”

Zurline said there was no talk about postponing tonight's varsity home game against Wewoka. The Rush Springs coaching staff declined to comment.
