Russell Westbrook was eager to get back on the court Friday following a loss at Golden State two nights earlier.

When he did, he unleashed an all-around assault for which the Kings had no counter.

Westbrook scored 18 points with a season-high 14 assists in the Thunder's 105-95 win at Sacramento. His assist total was two shy of tying his career high and one away from matching the Kings' team tally.

“He was great,” said Kevin Martin. “He's a special point guard. He wasn't looking to score too much. He was just making the right play all night.”

Westbrook was dreadful in the Thunder's five-point loss to the Warriors. He scored just 10 points, tying his season low, and missed 13 of his 16 shots. He had five rebounds and four assists, but he also turned the ball over six times.

After his impressive showing in Friday's win, Westbrook said it was easy to shake off Wednesday's game.

“Very easy,” he said. “I mean, you've got 82 games. For you to hang your head on one game that we had an opportunity to win, it doesn't matter.

“You have nights like that. There's nobody in this league that's going to play 82 games and not have some letdowns. So I'm not really worried about that.”

JEREMY LAMB TEARING IT UP IN TULSA

Rookie guard Jeremy Lamb has scored 30 points in back-to-back games while on assignment in the NBA D-League with the Tulsa 66ers.

Lamb scored 30 points with nine rebounds and eight assists in a five-point win over Iowa on Jan. 22 and followed that up with 30 points, eight rebounds, two assists and four steals in just 27 minutes in a 107-84 win over the Los Angeles Defenders on Friday night.
