Thunder star point guard Russell Westbrook missed shootaround on Friday because of illness and is a game-time decision for tonight’s game in New Orleans, according to coach Scott Brooks.
“Under the weather and we’ll see how he feels tonight,” Brooks said. “Game-time (decision).”
But despite Brooks’ prognosis, a seed of worry remains planted in Thunder fans, combining Westbrook’s recent injury history and the physical beating he seemed to take in Wednesday’s loss to the Blazers, crashing to the floor on several occasions.
However, Brooks said Westbrook felt fine postgame and his body is not the worry.
“It was a physical game (in Portland),” Brooks said. “I think both teams after that game felt that they were in a physical game. That’s how we like to play. But he’s fine. He felt great yesterday morning, just under the weather and we’ll see how he feels tonight.”
