Russell Westbrook is sidelined with a knee injury, but that won’t stop a recently filmed commercial staring the Thunder point guard from debuting today.
The ad is a part of a Jordan brand promotion for Champs Sports.
In the spot, Westbrook stars as somewhat of an alter ego of a high school basketball player who purchases gear at the footwear and apparel store before leading his team to a state championship.
The commercial was shot at Putnam City High on April 2, roughly a month before Westbrook sustained a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee, knocking him out of the remainder of the postseason.
Champs Sports and Jordan brand, however, decided to carry on with the campaign as a show of support for Westbrook.
