KRASNAYA POLYANA, Russia (AP) — Russian biathlete Olga Vilukhina is ill and will miss the women's 15-kilometer individual race Friday at the Sochi Olympics.

Vilukhina won the host nation's only biathlon medal so far, taking silver in Sunday's 7.5K sprint. She finished runner-up to Anastasiya Kuzmina of Slovakia.

Vilukhina was seventh in the 10K pursuit two days later. The Russian biathlon union said Thursday she was already weakened by a cold then.

She is competing in her first Olympics. She won bronze in the pursuit at the 2012 world championships and is ranked 11th in this season's overall World Cup standings.
