Ryan Broyles, Landry Jones bonded during trip to Haiti

I think we got a lot closer when we went to Haiti together (in the spring). It's just one of those things. We started working with the Lord. That bond came together. I roomed with him down in Haiti, and we'd go out and share the Gospel together. We'd talk to people about Jesus. I don't know, there's something that goes on whenever you do those things that unites people together.

I've played with him a long time around this place. It hurts to not have him. It hurts for him not to be around. We'll definitely miss him, but we're going to have to put someone in there. Someone else is going to have to step up.

He's just a great player, you know. Just with his numbers and the way he's worked throughout the year, he's just been a great player around this place.

He was good (when Jones spoke with him after the game). The Lord's just grabbed his heart so hard that he's understood that if football was gone, it's not the end. It's not the biggest thing you're going to get judged by as a man; it's whether you put your faith in God. Ryan has that, for sure. I think that's giving him kind of a peace.

It's still going to be hard, no doubt, because football means a lot to us. It's something we do and we care about it. But at the end of the day, it comes back to who are in God, who you are as a man of God.
