Inventory is lower
"The good news, when compared to last year, is that the days on market has dropped and the number of homes in inventory is lower, as well,” he said.
Houses took an average of 85 days to sell in February, nine days faster than in February 2009, the Realtors said.
Midpriced homes sold well, "while the more expensive homes still lag,” Moeller said.
February ended with 7,993 homes listed for sale, 374 more than in January, but 693 fewer than in February 2009, the association said.
The increase in the number of listings from January to February was no surprise, but the number of pending contracts increased, as well, said Brian Preston, an associate with RE/MAX Associates in Edmond.
Preston, who tracks the Edmond market closely, said he couldn’t tell whether pending sales were being held up by "timing or financing.”
