Sales tax proposal focus of meetings

NORMAN -- City council members have scheduled ward meetings leading up to the Aug. 22 city sales tax election to discuss the five-year, half-penny sales tax proposal.

Ward 5 will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Thunderbird Wedding Chapel, 11395 E State Highway 9.

A meeting for Wards 6 and 8 will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Fire Station No. 7, 2207 Goddard Ave., north of Robinson Street and west of Flood Avenue.

Ward 7 will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Cobblestone Creek Golf Club, 1350 Cobblestone Creek Drive, south of E SH 9 off 12th Avenue SE.

A meeting for residents of Wards 2 and 4 will be at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 17, in council chambers at city hall, 201 W Gray St.
