The 35-minute procedure was finished at 10:45 this morning, and Bradford, though still experiencing soreness, was resting comfortably.

It all looked great in the end and everyone seems to feel very good about it, said Kent Bradford, Sam Bradford's father, in a release.

Kent Bradford was able to watch some of the surgery, performed by Dr. James Andrews, and said the reigning Heisman winner would go through a limited exercise session on Wednesday before returning home in the next 24 to 48 hours.

Hey that's great - but you still lost at least $10 mill.

OSU fan here, just wanted to say I'm glad the surgery was a success. I wish only the best for Sam. I hate to see any player have to cut his career short because of an injury.
Kelly, Glencoe - Oct 29, 2009 at 10:53 am
People are you kidding me, you are right Kelly, these people have no class at all! Best of luck Sam! I hope your rehab goes well!
jeanie, elmore city - Oct 29, 2009 at 9:29 am
How anyone could speak ill of Sam Bradford is beyond me! Sam is a model citizen off the field as well as being a Heisman trophy winner on the field. I believe Zack Robinson and Colt McCoy are good kids as well. I would never make a comment against their health just because they play for a rival school and those of you that would . . . . your words speak volumes about your character!!

Best wishes to an OUstanding yOUng man from a wonderful family. We wish yOU a speedy recovery and life long success!! Boomer!

I hate for any athlete to be injured especially when they are young with so much to look forward to in life so I wish this young man Sam all the best as I do all athletes participating in sports.
Susie, Sherman - Oct 28, 2009 at 6:03 pm
From a pokes fan, this is very good news. He'll make a good, accurate pro QB.

You know an OU Athlete is going to get the best of care, and doubt if he has any "deductibles" or "co-payments" either. Glad he's OK.

I remember an Ou basketball player that didn't have such a happy ending after kee surgery. so I wish this kid a good recovery.
Paula, yukon 73099 - Oct 28, 2009 at 4:59 pm

OSU fan here but very glad that Sams surgery was a success. It is sad that his injury had to end his season this year but I have nothing but best wishes to him.

YAWN!
Brett, Oklahoma City - Oct 28, 2009 at 4:11 pm
I have a nice 10 inch shoulder surgery scar from Sports Medicine at 50th and Hefner Pkwy. But now they use all those lasers and such so I'm sure his scar if any will be tiny.
Sam needs to break the NCAA quarterback curse. SI did a story a few months back about how NCAA star quarterbacks all wash out at the NFL, Huepel not excluded.

Oh thank God, I was afraid he would have one of those "unsuccessful" shoulder surgeries. Can we milk this story any longer? Puhleezeeee....

That is great news. Hope Sam does well in his career.
