No OU-Texas game in history has matched quarterbacks so experienced in the rivalry. Together, Sam Bradford (two starts) and Colt McCoy (three) have made five OU-Texas starts.

In three games against OU, McCoy has a 2-1 record. He’s completed 58 of 79 passes (73.4 percent) for 709 yards, with five touchdowns and one interception.

In two games against Texas, Bradford has completed 49 of 71 passes (69 percent) for 631 yards, with eight TDs and two interceptions.

The previous OU-Texas matchups with the most experienced quarterbacks:

→1. 1992: UT’s Peter Gardere made his fourth start, while OU’s Cale Gundy made his second, though he also played half the 1990 game. Texas won 34-24 and Gardere finished 4-0 vs. the Sooners.

→2. 1975: OU’s Steve Davis and UT’s Marty Akins both made their third start in the rivalry. OU won 24-17, making Davis 3-0 vs. Akins.

→3. 1947: UT’s Bobby Layne made his third start in the series, though he also played in the 1944 game. OU’s Jack Mitchell made his second start. Texas won 34-14; Layne finished 3-0 as a starter and 4-0 overall vs. OU.
