SandRidge Energy Inc. has named an industry veteran as its new chief financial officer.
Eddie M. LeBlanc III on July 8 will take over the post vacated by new CEO James Bennett.
Bennett said LeBlanc has a solid background in finance and accounting, plus more than 20 years of experience serving in senior financial positions in the energy industry.
“We expect him to focus on capital discipline, optimizing SandRidge's spending levels and executing on our previously announced financial strategy designed to deliver returns to our shareholders,” Bennett said.
LeBlanc, 64, is chief financial officer at Pennsylvania-based East Resources Inc.
He occupied the same post at Oklahoma City's Post-Rock Energy Corp. from 2009 to 2010, when SandRidge Chief Operating Officer David Lawler was CEO.
LeBlanc will earn about $800,000 a year in salary and stock, according to a regulatory filing.
