Sapulpa man killed in Tulsa County interstate shoulder accident Thursday

A Sapulpa man struck a vehicle parked behind a dump truck with a flat tire Thursday night. He was killed by the impact, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.

A Sapulpa man died when the car he was driving struck another vehicle parked along an interstate shoulder, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.

Jody L. Wilson, 34, died of injuries suffered in the accident about 8:40 p.m. Thursday in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 44 just west of Harvard Avenue in Tulsa County.

Wilson hit a vehicle parked behind a dump truck that had a flat tire. No one was inside the dump truck.

Wilson was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he was pronounced dead of head, arm, leg, trunk and internal injuries, the patrol reports.

Injured in the vehicle struck by Wilson were Lora D. Jones, 47, of Tulsa and a 17-year-old boy whose name was not released, the patrol reports. They did not wear seat belts, and both inside the parked vehicle were treated and released from a Tulsa hospital, the patrol reports.

Wilson did not wear a seat belt.
