Dressed basis steers and heifers: Select and choice 550-950 lbs. $126-$129.50, weighted average $127.97.
Cattle futures:
Live cattle: June $78.52; August $78.85; October $82.50; December $84.35.

Cattle slaughter
Federally inspected cattle: 707,000 up 7.4 percent versus last year.

Meat production
Beef: 527.9 million lbs., up 7.8 percent versus last year.
Pork: 384.1 million lbs., up 0.4 percent versus last year.
Lamb: 3.3 million lbs., up 3.1 percent versus last year.
