Oklahoma weighted average for feeder cattle and calves at eight auctions: Oklahoma City, El Reno, Texhoma, Apache, Woodward, Ada, McAlester, and Tulsa.

Receipts:

Slaughter cattle

Slaughter cattle trades through Friday afternoon totaled 141,000. Market $2 lower. Dressed sales in the north steady to $1 lower.

Slaughter steers and heifers: Select and choice 900-1,400 lbs. $77-$81.50, weighted average $81.06.

Dressed basis steers and heifers: Select and choice 550-950 lbs. $126-$129.50, weighted average $127.97.

Cattle futures:

Live cattle: June $78.52; August $78.85; October $82.50; December $84.35.

Feeder cattle: August $108.60; September $108.25; October $107.30; November $106.75.

Cattle slaughter

Federally inspected cattle: 707,000 up 7.4 percent versus last year.

Hogs

Oklahoma City direct:

Receipts: 695 head.

Wednesday's market:

Barrows and gilts: U.S. Nos. 1-3 220 to 265 lbs. $44.

Sows: 300 to 500 lbs. $24-$28; 500 to 700 lbs. $30 to $32.

Sioux Falls, S.D.

Thursday's market:

Barrows and gilts: U.S. Nos. 1-3 220 to 270 lbs. $55.

Sows: 300 to 700 lbs. $32 to $33.50.

Western-area direct

Lean hog base price: (0.76-inch back-fat, 6.93-square-inch loin/2.31-inch depth) weighted average price of packers bids on a carcass basis delivered to packing plants Friday $73.19.

Hog futures

Dressed basis: (74 percent yield) June $72.95; July $70.70; August $69.47; October $58.45.

Hog slaughter

Federally inspected hogs: 1.903 million down 0.3 percent versus last year.

Goats

Perkins goat auction: (June 3):

Receipts: 1,044. Slaughter kids: 30-40 lbs. $129-$155, 40-60 lbs. $131-$167, 60-80 lbs. $119-$144.

Sheep slaughter

Federally inspected sheep: 45,000 down 2.2 percent versus last year.

Boxed beef

Estimated composite boxed beef cutout value: Market generally $.50 higher than last Friday. Choice 600-900 lbs. $154.12; select 600-900 lbs. $130.60.

Meat production

Beef: 527.9 million lbs., up 7.8 percent versus last year.

Pork: 384.1 million lbs., up 0.4 percent versus last year.

Lamb: 3.3 million lbs., up 3.1 percent versus last year.

Cattle carcass weights

National average: This week's estimate 764 lbs.; last week's estimate 762 lbs.; last year's actual 763 lbs.
