Dinner theater goes medieval
EDMOND — Patrons and students have two days left to reserve their spot for a music recital at Deer Creek High School.
The school’s vocal department will host the first Madrigal Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 13 in the school’s cafeteria, 6181 NW 206.
Tickets for the event must be reserved by 5 p.m. Thursday. The cost is $15 for adults and $12 for ages 12 and younger.
Billie Thomas, the school’s vocal director, said the recital will be non-traditional because the event will be a dinner theater. The school’s cafeteria will be decorated to resemble a medieval castle, complete with a king, jesters and other courtiers.
Guests will be treated to a three-course meal and, true to medieval standards, there will be no silverware. Between courses, the students will perform songs.
The dinner theater concept is a first for Deer Creek High School, Thomas said. Proceeds will be used to pay for the production. Thomas said she hopes it will become an annual event.
For more information or to reserve a ticket, call 348-5720 ext. 117 or e-mail Thomas at
