School choral concerts are set in Norman

Norman Public Schools has scheduled choral concerts featuring high school and middle school students.

Norman Public Schools will present two public choral concerts, each one featuring a high school and the middle schools associated with it.

The South Norman Secondary Choral Festival with students from Norman High School, Alcott Middle School and Irving Middle School is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 26.

The North Secondary Choral Festival with students from Norman North High School, Longfellow Middle School and Whittier Middle School is set for 7:30 p.m. March 5.

Both concerts will be in the Nancy O'Brian Center for Performing Arts, 1809 Stubbeman Ave.

The South Secondary concert will be conducted by Brenda Webb and Stephania Abell, directors at Norman High School; Jeanne Lucas, director at Alcott; and Renee Jerden, director at Irving.

The North Secondary concert will be conducted by Tony Gonzalez and Ryan Bogner, directors at Norman North; Heather Appel-Bailey, director at Longfellow; and Marcy Porter, director at Whittier.

Each concert will feature a variety of music performed by about 350 students. Tickets are $3 and can be purchased at the door. Admission is free for students in pre-K through 12th grades.
