Scratch Bruce Weber and Lon Kruger off Oklahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione's list for possible candidates to fill the men's basketball vacancy.

Weber said in a statement Thursday afternoon he had been contacted by other schools but will stay at Illinois. Sources said OU talked with Weber.

Las Vegas newspapers are reporting that Kruger on Thursday pulled his name out of consideration for the OU job.

Buzz Williams reportedly was Castiglione's top choice to replace Jeff Capel, who was fired days after the season ended. Williams, though, signed an extension with Marquette.

One name mentioned for OU and North Carolina State vacancies is Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall, who coached in the NIT finals Thursday night.

Memphis' Josh Pastner wasn't believed to be on OU's list but also has signed an extension this week.
