SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A marketing organization chose South Dakota to be included in one of seven familiarization tours across the United States targeting travel agents from the United Kingdom.
Brand USA promotes the United States as a vacation destination for international travelers. The organization included South Dakota as part of its May 15-21 "Meet the Mountains" tour in parts of Colorado, Nebraska, and western South Dakota. The group was in western South Dakota for two days.
Fifteen participants got to tour Badlands National Park, the Journey Museum, downtown Rapid City, Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Crazy Horse Memorial and Custer State Park.
Participants then flew to Texas to join the other six groups from across the country and share notes from their experiences.
