SDSU adds another FBS opponent, Iowa State

BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) — South Dakota State has reached an agreement to play Iowa State in the opening game of the 2018 football season.

The game is scheduled Sept. 1, 2018, in Ames, Iowa. The teams also played there four years ago, with Iowa State winning 44-17.

SDSU is an NCAA Football Championship Subdivision school, while Iowa State plays in the upper-tier Football Bowl Subdivision. SDSU now has four games against FBS schools scheduled in upcoming seasons. The other three are at Nebraska in 2013, at Missouri in 2014 and at Minnesota in 2015.
