Aug. 6, 1990:Sean Sutton transfers to OSU from a Lexington, Ky., junior college to play for his father, Eddie Sutton. Sean had played two seasons under his father at Kentucky.

March 1991: Sutton averages 10.2 points for an OSU team that loses in overtime to Temple in the NCAA Tournament East Region semifinals. It is OSU's first NCAA appearance in eight seasons.
March 28, 1992: In his last collegiate game, Sutton's 3-pointer pulls OSU to within a point of Michigan's Fab Five with eight seconds left in the NCAA Tournament Southeast Regional semis. But Juwan Howard steals Sutton's pass to OSU's Corey Williams and Michigan escapes with a 75-72 win.
June 2, 1992: Former OSU assistant Rob Evans hires Sutton to be his assistant at Mississippi.
May 21, 1993: Sutton replaces Bill Self, named Oral Roberts University's head coach, on his father's OSU staff.
April 1, 1995: OSU reaches the Final Four, falling to eventual champion UCLA and its star Ed O'Bannon, 74-61. It is OSU's first Final Four appearance since 1951.
Aug. 23, 2000: Sutton is named OSU's associate head coach.
March 15, 2001: Six weeks after a plane crash killed 10 associated with the program, OSU loses to USC in the first round of the NCAA Tournament East regional.
March 12, 2004: In the midst of a renaissance season in which OSU will win the Big 12 regular-season and tournament titles and reach the Final Four, Sutton withdraws his name from consideration for the SMU coaching vacancy amid reports he had begun talks with OSU on a deal that would assure he succeeded his father.
May 26, 2004:Harry Birdwell, then OSU athletic director, asks regents for approval to negotiation a contract ensuring that Sutton will succeed his father.
March 25, 2005: OSU falls 79-78 to Arizona in the Sweet 16 after Salim Stoudamire hits a jumper with 2.8 seconds left and OSU's John Lucas misses from deep in the corner as time expires on the Cowboys' last NCAA game to date.
June 2005: Sutton is named recruiter of the year by Rivals.com, which ranks OSU's incoming class No. 1 in the country. That class of eight players included Gerald Green, who jumped from high school to the NBA, and four players who later left OSU before finishing their eligibility.
Feb. 10, 2006: Eddie Sutton is involved in a car accident en route to the airport for an OSU road trip to Texas A&M. The accident results in charges of aggravated driving under the influence, speeding and driving on the wrong side of the road. Sean Sutton replaces his father as interim coach for OSU's final 10 games.
March 15, 2006: OSU loses to Miami in the first round of the NIT.
May 19, 2006: Sean Sutton is named OSU's head coach when his father retires after 16 seasons at OSU.
Nov. 8, 2006:James Anderson, a future McDonald's All-American, announces he will sign with OSU.
March 13, 2007: OSU loses at home to Marist in the first round of the NIT, ending a 23-15 season in which it started 15-1.
May 14, 2007:Jai Lucas, younger brother of former OSU guard John Lucas III, announces he will sign with Florida. The younger Lucas chose Florida over OSU and Kentucky.
July 16, 2007: OSU senior Marcus Dove is suspended indefinitely after being charged with aggravated driving under the influence. Dove was the third OSU player arrested in four months. Obi Muonelo was arrested in June for being underage in a Stillwater bar and Terrel Harris was arrested in April for using a fake ID in a Stillwater bar.
April 23, 2007: Sutton's former OSU teammate Corey Williams leaves the staff at Oral Roberts University to join the Cowboy coaching staff.
June 2007: Corey Williams leaves OSU to join former Oklahoma State coach Leonard Hamilton's staff at Florida State.
Feb. 17, 2008: OSU ends a 19-game road losing streak with a victory at No. 16 Texas A&M.
Feb. 23, 2008: OSU stuns Final Four participant Kansas 75-73 in Stillwater.
March 18, 2008: OSU ends a third-straight season with an NIT loss, this one at Southern Illinois.
April 1, 2008: OSU announces Sutton's resignation after a 39-29 record in two seasons.
