You have seven days left.
In those days, anticipation will increase. Discussion at the office will pick up. Bold talk on the social media platforms will intensify.
And subscribers to The Oklahoman will have an edge.
Football season is here.
Some say it begins with Fan Day. I say it begins when The Oklahoman’s annual football preview is released. That comes on Sunday. It’s called ‘SEC-opoly.’
I saw an early version of the massive special section, so I can say for sure that Sports Editor Mike Sherman and his department were creative and analytical in previewing the 2013 football season. This is not a customary program with rosters and light features. It cuts way below the surface and focuses on the culture of college football in Oklahoma in comparison with the Southeastern Conference.
It’s like a $6 program you buy at the game — only way better.
And it comes with your newspaper on Sunday.
On NewsOK.com, you will be able to see a lot of the articles from the section on Sunday. You can browse our Varsity pages for all the high school content and you will be able to find some of our OU and OSU preview stories on those coverage pages. But only The Oklahoman subscribers will have full access to the in-depth analysis pieces on the culture of the SEC as it relates to the Big 12.
Non-subscribing NewsOK readers can relax. Those stories will be available for everyone. We will be releasing a new story in full each day on NewsOK. Everyone will be fully enlightened by the end of the week.
But the ones that sound a little smarter early in the week … those are The Oklahoman’s subscribers.
