Tractor-trailer wrecks tie up traffic in Oklahoma City

Semitrailer rigs overturned Monday at the Interstate 235 off-ramp at I-35 northbound, and on I-40 at Morgan Road, closing both for several hours.

Interstate 40 and Interstate 35 in Oklahoma City both were closed Monday morning after two tractor-trailers overturned.

About 11 a.m., a rig hauling asphalt overturned on northbound Interstate 35 at the Interstate 235 off-ramp downtown.

One person who had been trapped in the wreckage was freed and taken for medical treatment, a fire department spokeswoman said.

Eastbound I-40 at Morgan Road was closed when another tractor-trailer overturned on the eastbound on-ramp about 9:20 a.m.

Traffic was diverted onto Reno Avenue.
