Second Mannford shooting victim is identified

Two people died of apparent gunshot wounds in Mannford in June, according to the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation reports. The identities of both men have now been determined.

— The second of two men found dead June 18 has been identified , by the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation reports.

Don Ray Stanford, 53, was found dead in the 35000 block of W Basin Road in Mannford. His body has been positively identified by the state medical examiner’s office.

Pawnee County sheriff’s deputies also found another man dead inside the home. Ward Ray Bartlett, 60, who had previously been identified, lived in the home.

Stanford had been staying at Bartlett’s home. OSBI agents and Pawnee County sheriff’s investigators are waiting for the medical examiner to officially determine the cause and manner of death of the men. It appears both died of gunshot wounds, according to OSBI. A firearm was found inside the home, OSBI reports.
