In his new book, "Secular Sabotage: How Liberals are Destroying Religion and Culture in America” (Faith Words, $26.99), Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, explores the many ways secularists and many liberals attack Christianity and Catholicism in particular. He explores the arts, movies, politics, lawyers and other cultural topics in the United States where secular liberals have bashed and are bashing Christianity.

The reader may at first think Donohue is just ranting and raving, but he points out incidences that have occurred, and he documents these from various sources. The general reader will have no problem reading or understanding what Donohue is writing about.

Donohue and others say a secular liberal minority is trying to shut up and shut down the Christian majority. He and others do not want to shut the minority down. They just want to stop the bashing. This book is highly recommended to those interested in defending Christianity and its culture and traditions.

Is anyone willing to debate with an atheist? I'll squash your argument just like I destroyed your imaginary "God".

The reason Mustang schools lost their bond election that year was because the administrator (now the administrator at Oklahoma City P.S.) decided to shut down the nativity scene while at the same time allowed a menorah and a Kwanzaa display. His reasoning was that Jews are a culture and a religion which is a bit of a stretch in logic and that Kwanzaa is also a cultural event. That is also stretching the definition just a tad. It could be that Nation of Islam leader, Ron Karenga, created Kwanzaa by happenstance to coincide with the Islam period of mourning. But the Moslem friends I have emphatically deny they would ever allow a person like Karenga attempt to brand of Islam as they would very likely declare a Fatwa much like they have done with Rushdie and cartoonists. If I interpret the problem correctly with allowing it to stand and not others is that Kwanzaa has evolved into a pseudo religious holiday that was imported into the Black diaspora and their churches.
No matter how you see it, it wound up costing Mustang schools millions of bond funds which they eventually did get passed later and their leader is now the Tzar at OCPS. He didn't fare to bad on the deal.

Bill Donohue ... What a nice man, kinda like Father Coughlin, Westbrook Pegler, and Joe McCarthy all rolled into one neat little "Protector of the Faith" package. "...He and others do not want to shut the minority down. They just want to stop the bashing." What a LOAD.

No, the Christian majority is trying to silence minority religions. It's an age old story. The dominant religious sect tries to enforce their brand of religion on everyone else, claiming only they are right. It happened in the Colonies before the Revolution, and it's happening today. Some Christians are so afraid of other faiths, so insuecure of their own faith that they will go to any measure to make their brand of religion the dominate one. It's time for people of all faiths to live and let live.
